KONEKT ELECTRA Review 2026: Performance, Price, and Verdict

Troubleshooting KONEKT ELECTRA: Common Issues and Fixes

1. Charger not powering on

  • Possible causes: no AC power to the unit, tripped breaker, loose wiring, internal fuse/MCU fault.
  • What to check (in order):
    1. Confirm house/main breaker and charger circuit breaker are ON.
    2. Verify other nearby circuits/outlets have power.
    3. Inspect charger wiring and disconnects for visible damage or loose terminals (turn off mains before touching).
    4. Restart the unit: turn off circuit breaker for 30 seconds, then turn back on.
  • Fixes: reset breakers, tighten wiring connections, replace blown fuses, contact certified electrician or KONEKT support if internal fault.

2. Charger powers on but won’t start charging

  • Possible causes: vehicle not recognized, vehicle settings, faulty EVSE communication, locked connector, ground fault or safety trip.
  • Checks and fixes:
    1. Ensure vehicle is unlocked and ready to charge; try reconnecting the plug.
    2. Confirm cable latch is engaged and RFID/lock (if used) is authorized.
    3. Try a different EV to rule out vehicle-side issue.
    4. Inspect error LEDs or display for fault codes; consult manual for code meanings.
    5. Reset ground-fault / RCD and any AFCI devices.
    6. Update firmware if available (follow KONEKT instructions).
    7. Contact an electrician if communication wiring (control pilot) or internal relays may be faulty.

3. Slow charging / lower-than-expected current

  • Possible causes: charger configured to lower amperage, supply capacity limited, vehicle acceptance limit, long/cold cable, voltage drop.
  • Checks and fixes:
    1. Check charger current setting (built-in app or display) and increase to allowable maximum.
    2. Verify household supply capacity and whether other loads are reducing available current.
    3. Check vehicle on-board charger max charge rate — some EVs limit current.
    4. Use a shorter/heavier cable if available; avoid very cold conditions temporarily.
    5. Have an electrician measure line voltage under load to rule out voltage drop.

4. Intermittent charging interruptions

  • Possible causes: loose connection, water ingress, thermal cutoff, overheating, faulty cable/pin corrosion, RCD/AFCI nuisance trips.
  • Checks and fixes:
    1. Inspect connector pins and cable for corrosion, dirt, or damage; clean with a dry cloth.
    2. Check for moisture around the unit or cable; dry thoroughly and ensure outdoor seals are intact.
    3. Ensure unit has adequate airflow and is not overheating; relocate if installed in enclosed hot area.
    4. Replace damaged cable or connector.
    5. If RCD/AFCI trips, test with known-good device; replace faulty protection device.

5. Error codes or LED fault indicators

  • General approach:
    1. Note exact error code or LED pattern.
    2. Consult the KONEKT ELECTRA user manual or quick-start guide for code definitions.
    3. Power-cycle the charger after noting the code.
    4. If code persists, contact KONEKT support with model, serial number, firmware version, and photo of the error.

6. App or connectivity problems (Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth)

  • Possible causes: weak Wi‑Fi signal, incorrect network settings, firmware mismatch, router settings (2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz).
